Indigo Children for Elderly Care, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization pioneering a new model of aging, one that treats senior living the way a college treats its campus: as a place of growth, connection, and lifelong vitality. Instead of isolating elders in traditional facilities, Indigo is building state-of-the-art “Silicon Valley Vitality Campuses” where seniors live independently inside smart suites equipped with AI-driven health tools, wearable sensors, and ambient safety systems.
This work could not be more timely. For the first time in history, adults over 60 are projected to outnumber children under 18, and by 2030 more than one-quarter of California’s population, approximately 10 million people, will be over the age of 60. This demographic shift is reshaping the state’s priorities, driving demand for innovative health, housing, and long-term care solutions.
The Indigo suites function like personalized health hubs. Smartwatches and smart rings continuously track heart rhythm, sleep, mobility patterns, and temperature trends; microfluidic bio-patches monitor hydration, respiration, and infection markers; and continuous glucose monitors sync with Alexa and Smart TVs to deliver real-time alerts and nutrition guidance. The entire environment, from motion sensors to automated medication dispensers, creates a safety net that watches over residents quietly and respectfully, allowing seniors to maintain dignity and independence while receiving real-time support.
